Marcus was born in New York in 1984. He received his college education in 2000 when he first enrolled at Blinn College. Later in 2001, he entered the University of Missouri-Columbia, where he studied until 2003. He received his training in Journalism, Spanish at the University of Missouri-Columbia. After a short period until 2011, he had a gap for receiving another educational program. In 2011, he received his education in Russian language and literature at Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU).

Marcus started working for his professional life in 2000 while pursuing his college education. He first took the position of anchor/reporter at KBTX-TV, where he did general news, breaking news and other assignments while fulfilling the responsibilities of an anchor. After a year, he started working as an anchor/reporter at KOMU-TV, where he was both a writer and shooter, and worked on a weekly car segment called “KOMU’s Car Guy”. From 2003 to 2005, he worked at WAPT-TV in the same position and was given the responsibility of broadcasting daily and important stories, including the landfall of Hurricane Katrina. While at WAPT-TV, he also anchored weekend newscasts.
He later gave 6 years of his life to KMBC-TV while being hired as general reporter/anchor, covering general news, live shots for stations, covering automotive topics including NASCAR and Indy Car Racing , and held anchor responsibilities for weekend newscasts. From January 2012 to September 2017, Marcus worked for WFAA as a reporter, and finally, or at the latest, has been with ABC News since October 2017 as a national correspondent. It has been four years since he left his position as National Correspondent with ABC News.
Marcus Moore has a long history of chasing the storm and beating Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Patricia in Mexico.
