Payton Pritchard is an American personality who is a professional basketball player and plays professionally for the Boston Celtics of the NBA (National Basketball Association). He previously played college basketball for the Oregon Ducks and as a sophomore took second-team conference honors in the Pac-12. He is notable throughout the 2021-2022 NBA season and with spectacular coordination with his team, Boston Celtics play in NBA Finals against Golden State Warriors 1-1.
Payton Pritchard was born on January 28, 1998 in Tualatin, Oregon. was educated in West Linn, Oregon, and later attended Oregon College from 2016 to 2020. His father is called Terry and his mother is called Melissa Pritchard, while she has a sister, Lexiem Pritchard. Like his brother, she enjoys sports and plays basketball for Santa Clara University. Payton was a hero during his school days and is still considered the legend of West Linn. While playing for West Linn High School, Payton won four consecutive state titles, taking the honors of 2014 and 2015 Todd Pratt Player of the Year, Oregon Class 6A Player of the Year, and 2015 Gatorade Oregon Player of the Year. He averaged 22 points and 5.8 assists per game as a junior in 2014-15 and averaged another 23.6 along with 6.8 assists and 3.1 steals as a senior in 2015-16. Payton was named a four-star recruit by ESPN.com and was committed to playing for the University of Oregon Ducks in August 2015. Prior to this commitment, he was committed to playing for Oklahoma, where his father Terry played soccer.
Payton was drafted in the 26th overall pick in the first round of the 2020 NBA Draft, where he committed to play for the Boston Celtics for four years under a $10.5 million Rookie Contract. Payton made his team debut where he scored 17 points in a preseason game against the Philadelphia 76ers on December 15, 2020. On January 4, 2021, he scored 23 points in his career along with an overall score of 126-114 and a win against the Toronto Raptors and scored about 8 assists and 2 rebounds. In the next game, while facing the Miami Heat, Payton helped his team win with an overall score of 107-105 and a game-winning layup. On January 12, 2021, Payton scored the first start of his NBA career, but had a disappointing performance by scoring just 2 points in 28 minutes with a loss in hand while facing the Detroit Pistons. This performance came at the start of the stages that left Payton struggling with his impressive performance. He later made his career best, scoring 28 points in a game while facing Oklahoma City Thunder on April 27, 2021.
