Nick Gates’ career
Nike began his football career during his high school years where he was part of the school football team. He maintained excellent performances and records during his high school and throughout his senior year, ending up as a four-star recruiter. He was offered by the University of Nebraska in which he made a commitment in 2014. Throughout his collegiate football career, he was red-shirt in the new year and the 2015 season; He started playing on the offensive line for the team. In his junior year, he was red-shirted again and could not play many games. In his senior year, he began preparing for the 2018 NFL Draft and did not play the final season for the college team.

He was drafted by the New York Giants in the 2018 NFL Draft but was later undrafted and joined as a free agent instead. He missed his 2018-2019 rookie season due to injury and the following season he started playing with the team at center position. His performance during the 16 games played in the season was impressive and accomplished which made him the captain for the 2021 season. During the match against the Washington football team, in the current 2021 season, he fractured his left leg and could not play further. He immediately underwent surgery for a fractured tibia and fibula zone. He is currently recovering but his return to the season is uncertain.
