Anna Hall, the NCAA champion from the University of Florida, now holds the world position after winning the bronze medal at the World Athletics Championships at Hayward Field on Monday night, 18th July 2022. She won the 800 m race which was the last event among the seven events. On Monday night Nafissatou Thiam of Belgium won the gold medal with record-making scores of 6,947 points and Anouk Vetter of the Netherlands took home the silver medal with a national record of 6,867 points.

Anna became the first American to win a medal in the heptathlon after the record was first set by Shelia Burrell’s bronze in 2001. Anna posted her personal best in the competition of total scores of 6,755 points to hold off Poland’s Adrianna Sulek (6,672) to reach the podium. She ran for the 800-meter race with record-making timings of 2 minutes and 6.67 seconds. With this achievement, she has now become the sixth-fastest ever at the world championships in the track and field events of heptathletes, edging Sulek (2:07.18). Hall also holds the record-making score with her fifth place in the long jump (20 feet, 11¾ inches), where she earned 972 points but was later dropped to 4th place after leaving behind her competitor with a difference of one place. After attending the event of the javelin with a throw of 150-1, she earned her third place and the seventh best in the event and subsequently entered the 800 with 5,741 points, with other competitors like Vetter who had 304 points ahead of her and Sulek who was 75 ahead her. During the game, she was aware of the margins as she was approaching the final events of the whole event. But she took the early lead and had her close gap with the final score over the final 150 meters with her competitor Sulek. However, this score distance or gap was not enough to determine the final standing position. Despite holding a career line in track and field, Anna is also holding her practices in the line of the private sector. In between her education, she briefly had her job for two months at New York-based Morgan Stanley, where she held the position of Sophomore Investment Banking Summer Analyst.
